Vegan activist and musician Paul Floyd channels emotional intensity and unapologetic truth into music that confronts injustice head-on. His featured track on The Compassion Project, “I Don’t Think You Want to Know,” is a bold lyrical confrontation with willful ignorance surrounding animal exploitation. Blending raw rock grit with compassionate purpose, Floyd’s music is a wake-up call — meant to stir, challenge, and inspire. As the founder of The Natural Life Reset and Adam and Eve Diet platforms, Paul merges music with health and social justice, building a growing community around conscious living and artistic resistance.

Was there something or someone who was the "catalyst" for you to go into music?I knew I wanted to play the guitar when I was a very small child and watched The Dukes of Hazzard on TV. My folks bought me my first toy Dukes of Hazzard guitar that I took everywhere. I had an uncle who also played guitar when I was young, and he also inspired me.

Let's get this out of the way. What is the craziest thing that has ever happened in your music career? Opening for David J of Bauhaus was unforgettable — not just because of who he is, but because it was hilariously surreal. He was every bit the theatrical, aloof legend you'd expect — totally out of touch in the most rockstar way possible. It felt like stepping into a gothic fever dream, and I was here for it. The whole experience was wild, over the top, and somehow exactly what I imagined it should be.

What has been the highlight of your music path? Getting invited to be part of this Compassion Project compilation album is a huge honor — to be in the company of others using their voices to fight for compassion. Also, growing a real community around my music and message on Facebook has been an unexpected and deeply fulfilling part of this journey.

How do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like? Most of my songs start with an emotion — anger, sorrow, hope — and I grab the guitar and let it flow. I write everything myself, often in one sitting, because when the message is real, it pours out. I produce it all too, so the final track captures that rawness without losing its punch.

Do you have a new release? Yes — I just released the lyric video for my new vegan anthem, Let’s Lead. It’s raw, emotional, and rooted in compassion — a song that challenges listeners to see animals as equals and make kinder choices. This track is more than just music — it’s a call to action. Every lyric is a stand for the voiceless, a push against complacency, and an invitation to lead with love. The official music video is coming soon and will feature powerful live footage shot at an animal sanctuary. Whether you're vegan or just beginning to question the system, this song was made to stir something inside you.

If you could share the stage or a song session with an artist, who would it be? Rage Against the Machine or Nahko. I love music with a message — something that moves you AND means something. Collaborating with anyone who writes from the soul and stands for something bigger would be incredible.

For fans who have never heard your music, how would you describe your sound? It’s truth-infused rock with heavy guitar, poetic rebellion, and soul-driven purpose. Think raw vocals, emotional grit, and lyrics that make you stop and think — music that doesn’t play in the background, it grabs your conscience by the collar.

What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, producing...something else? It’s the songwriting. That moment where the words line up with the melody and you realize — this is going to speak to someone. But I also love the production process, building the track piece by piece until it hits with the impact I imagined.

When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing? I’m all about health, fitness, and living with intention. I run a platform called The Natural Life Reset where I help people reverse disease, lose weight, and take back their lives through a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle. I also love being a dad and spending meaningful time with my daughter.

What is coming up in the future for you? More songs, more videos — and the official music video for “I Don’t Think You Want to Know,” which I’ll be filming at a real animal sanctuary. I’m also expanding my content across social platforms, speaking publicly about veganism, health, and disease reversal, and releasing my next music project later this year.Oh — and I’ve got a book coming out soon called “How I Told Gout to Fck Off!”* It’s a raw, honest story about how I completely managed a painful chronic condition with a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle — no meds, just truth and plants.
