Austin, TX – Visionary artist Kim Smith has been selected to appear on The Compassion Project: Songs for Animal, Human, and Earth Justice, a powerful compilation album set for release on September 5 by Artists & Activists Records. Her deeply emotive track, “Human,” is a soul-stirring meditation on awakening, empathy, and the sacred interconnectedness of all life.
Written by Kim Smith and recorded and produced by Chris Rosser, “Human” was inspired by a spiritual message she received after the passing of her beloved companion animal, Barley. The song calls listeners to look within, awaken their compassion, and stop turning away from the suffering of animals. With haunting beauty and spiritual depth, “Human” urges us to protect all beings — not exploit them — and to honor the truth that we are all connected.
