About National Animal Rights Day (NARD):

NARD events are organized by a global network of local activists across more than 150 cities under the sponsorship and guidance of the US-based nonprofit 'Our Planet. Theirs Too.' Established in the United States in 2011, NARD has since expanded to over 50 countries worldwide. Each event aims to raise awareness about the plight of animals and inspire a collective effort towards a cruelty-free world.

Why NARD Matters:

The exploitation of non-human animals is pervasive and has been ingrained in human society for millennia. Despite our cultural affection for animals, evidenced through books, films, and media, we continue to subject them to unimaginable cruelty. In 2019 alone, 150 billion animals were killed globally in slaughterhouses, with 15 billion land animals and 50 billion sea animals killed for food in the United States. Additionally, millions of animals die annually in laboratories, fur farms, and hunting grounds. This systematic cruelty must end, and NARD aims to be a catalyst for change.

If animals could speak, their cries would be heard from every corner of our world. These sentient beings, with their unique personalities and will to live, deserve the right to exist free from harm. They share the same right to life as humans and should be allowed to live happily and freely with their families.

NARD is a day of reflection, remembrance, and action. By coming together on this day, we amplify the voices of the voiceless and renew our commitment to creating a compassionate world for all living beings.
