Austin, TX – San Diego rock band Sometimes Julie has been selected to appear on The Compassion Project: Songs for Animal, Human, and Earth Justice, a dynamic and socially charged compilation album set for release on September 5 by Artists & Activists Records. Their featured track, “I Won’t Go Quietly,” is an electrifying anthem of resistance and empowerment that demands justice for marginalized communities and calls out systemic abuse.

Written by Monica Sorenson, Rick Walker, and Bruce Paul Allen, the track was produced by Patricio A. Pickslay, Rick Walker, and Sorenson, and recorded at Pacific Beat Recording and Pacific Records in San Diego. With bold vocals, driving guitar, and a soul-stirring message, “I Won’t Go Quietly” is a declaration of strength — a refusal to be silenced in the face of oppression. The song speaks out against cruelty inflicted by those in power, especially toward women, children, minorities, and immigrants, echoing the broader human rights message of the album.

About Sometimes Julie Sometimes Julie is one of San Diego’s most engaging and original rock bands, fronted by the dynamic singer-songwriter duo Monica Sorenson and Rick Walker. Known for blending raw emotion with refined rock musicianship, the band emerged with their debut Head First (2014), and has since released a string of acclaimed albums including Bright Side of the Line (2016), Breaking (2018), and Where Are You? (2020), which was nominated for Best Rock Album at the San Diego Music Awards.
